One of my first posts introduced you to Harris. Now I would like to introduce you to Skylar.
Skylar is a little under a year and a half old. She came to me in August 2012 by chance but I fell in love.
My sister Kristyn has a habit of attracting cats, cat people (she is a felinologist after all) and become friends with people who attract cats. One specific friend found a tiny female kitten near a loading dock at her Dad’s work.
The kitten looked like she had been abandoned by her mom and was sitting alone crying. The friend took her in and gave her a temporary home and even bottle fed her.
Sadly she was moving soon and her new place would not allow her to take the kitten with her (even though she had fallen in love). I quickly offered to take her so Harris could finally have a friend.
I named her after Skylar from Breaking Bad (even though Skylar was one of the worst characters in the show). I still liked the name and it seemed to fit the kitten.
Little Skylar was one messy kitten. She was always stuffing her face into food and somehow finding dust bunnies to attach to her fur. She’s cleaner now that she is older, but she still gets into a mess or two.
She’s also taken lead of the house. Even though Harris is over 4 years older, she is the one in charge and she is not afraid to show it.
I’m glad things worked out and I was able to be the one to provide a kitten a home – and that she’s grown into an amazing cat. See Skylar in the featured image above. :)
